Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited has issued a new recruitment for the youth doing Diploma in Engineering. The company has announced a total of 16 vacancies for the posts of trainee in both mechanical and electrical trades. This opportunity is especially for the candidates who are natives of Karnataka. The application process will start from 19 November 2025 and will continue till 18 December 2025. Interested candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of UCSL or Cochin Shipyard Limited.
According to the released notification, 12 posts have been kept in Mechanical Trade, out of which 6 posts are reserved for General, 3 OBC, 1 SC, 1 ST and 1 EWS. Whereas 4 posts have been declared in Electrical Trade, out of which 2 are reserved for General, 1 for OBC and 1 for SC. In this way, a total of 16 candidates will be recruited by combining both the trades.
What is important?
UCSL has made it clear that to apply for these posts, the candidate must have a three-year diploma and his total marks should be at least 60%. For mechanical posts, diploma in mechanical engineering is required, while for electrical trade, diploma in electrical engineering is required. Along with this, it is also worth noting that the age of the applicant should not be more than 25 years on 18 December 2025. That means the candidate should be born on or after 19 December 2000.
Reserved categories will also get relaxation as per government rules. OBC non-creamy layer candidates will be given age relaxation of 3 years and SC-ST category will be given 5 years age relaxation. With this, many such youth will also be able to apply who are not able to fall within the normal age limit.
How much money will you get?
The best thing about recruitment is that selected candidates will be given training for two years. You will get a stipend of Rs 20,000 per month in the first year and Rs 23,000 per month in the second year. This means that candidates will be given good allowance even during training. After this, when the training is completed, the candidates will be considered for the post of Supervisor in TS-1 grade. The starting basic pay in this grade is Rs 28,000. Including other allowances, the total starting salary will reach approximately Rs 55,104 per month.
