Uttar Pradesh government is soon going to start the recruitment process for more than 23,000 posts of teachers. Recruitment will be done for the posts of TGT, PGT, Headmaster and Principal in 4,512 aided secondary schools of the state. Regarding these recruitments, almost all the districts of the state have sent the details of the vacant posts to the Directorate of Education. This recruitment will be done through Uttar Pradesh Extraordinary and Special Selection Commission. According to the Directorate of Education, so far information about a total of 22,201 vacant posts has been received from 71 districts. After receiving data from the remaining four districts, this number is expected to increase to more than 23,000.
Vacancy details will be sent by 31 March 2026
Uttar Pradesh Education Department has instructed all the District Magistrates to investigate and send the report on all the vacant posts except the reserved posts for transfer in 2025-26. The Commission had sought information for new recruitments on July 29 and the last date for sending vacancies has been fixed as March 31, 2026. It is being told that the recruitment process is expected to start after March 31. The Directorate of Education will soon upload all the recruitments on the online portal of UPESSC. According to the Deputy Education Director of Uttar Pradesh, every district has been asked to ensure that the information sent is correct so that there is complete transparency in the recruitment process.
More than 30,000 teachers’ jobs are in danger
At the same time, after the Supreme Court’s order regarding the appointment of teachers with B.Ed degree, more than 30,000 primary teachers are waiting for a six-month bridge course. This course organized by NIOS can start from December 1. NCTE had approved this course on 2 July 2025. However, the Basic Education Department has not yet made its official announcement. In fact, the Supreme Court has said that B.Ed holding teachers appointed before August 11, 2023, will have to complete this bridge course within one year. If teachers do not complete the course, their appointment will be considered cancelled. Because of this, now everyone’s eyes are fixed on the notification issued by the government.
