A major achievement that will give new heights to India’s defense capabilities will be revealed to the world on January 26. The Long Range Anti-Ship Hypersonic Glide Missile (LRASHM), developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), will be displayed publicly for the first time in the 77th Republic Day Parade. This missile is capable of hitting a range of about 1500 kilometers and will greatly strengthen India’s strategic position in the Indian Ocean region.
LRASHM is being developed specifically keeping in mind the needs of the Indian Navy. This missile flies at hypersonic speed, that is, its speed is many times more than the speed of sound. Due to such high speed, it becomes very difficult for the enemy radar and air defense system to identify and stop it in time.
precision strikes on enemy ships
This missile is capable of carrying a variety of payloads and can directly target the weapon systems of enemy ships deployed at sea. Its high speed makes it a very deadly weapon in sea warfare. According to experts, this will significantly increase both the strike capability and sea control of the Indian Navy.
Big step towards self-reliant India
Project Director A. According to Prasad Gaud, DRDO is continuously working on hypersonic glide and hypersonic cruise missile technology. The performance of LRASHM in the Republic Day Parade strengthens the vision of self-reliant India in the defense sector and shows that India is rapidly moving forward in cutting-edge missile technology.
Naval tableau will also be a special attraction
The tableau of the Indian Navy in the Republic Day parade will also attract the attention of the spectators. In this, along with a glimpse of the ancient ship of the fifth century, the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and other modern warships will be displayed. This year, 144 young sailors of the Navy will march on the path of duty. They have been given special training for more than two months. This contingent has been selected from various states and union territories of the country, which is a symbol of the unity and diversity of the Indian Navy.
