US Secretary of State Marco Rubio wished India a happy Republic Day and praised the cooperation being done between the two countries under the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) in defense and other areas. Rubio said the US-India relationship is delivering concrete results for both countries through close cooperation on defense, energy and critical minerals, and for the Indo-Pacific region through the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad).
American leader Marco Rubio gave a special message for India on the Republic Day being celebrated on 26 January. Rubio said on Sunday (25 January 2026), ‘On behalf of the people of America, I heartily congratulate the people of India on their Republic Day.’ Referring to the group of Australia, India, Japan and America, he said, ‘There is a historic relationship between America and India. From our close cooperation on defense, energy, critical minerals, and emerging technologies to our multi-level engagement through the Quad, the US-India relationship is delivering real results for both our countries and for the Indo-Pacific region.

The Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs also congratulated India on the occasion. The bureau wrote on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), ‘Happy Republic Day, India! The United States joins the people of India in celebrating your country’s adoption of the Constitution, and we look forward to seeing what the world’s two largest and most vibrant democracies will accomplish together in the year ahead.
