Retired IAS officer Amit Khare, who is counted among the senior and honest officers of the country, has been appointed as Secretary of Vice President CP Radhakrishnan. The appointment committee of the cabinet approved this appointment on Sunday and the Department of Personnel and Training issued its order. According to the order, Khare will be appointed on the basis of contract and he will fulfill this responsibility for the next three years from the date of taking over.

Amit Khare has been an IAS officer of a 1985 batch Jharkhand cadre. His name comes in the few officers whose image is considered very honest and strict. Khare is especially known for exposing the fodder scam, which created a stir in the politics and administrative system of Bihar. The revelations of this scam brought him recognition across the country.

Has been an advisor to the Prime Minister

Prior to this new responsibility, Khare was working as an advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He started work in the Prime Minister’s Office from 12 October 2021 and was looking into matters related to the social sector. Khare has worked in many important positions not only in the central government but also in the Jharkhand government.

Deep connection with education sector

Amit Khare’s name is also considered very important in the education sector. He was made the Information and Broadcasting Secretary of the Government of India in the year 2018. After this, he also worked as the Secretary of School Education and Literacy and Higher Education.
The biggest thing is that Khare was part of the main team to prepare and implement the National Education Policy 2020. This policy is considered a historical reform in the education sector of India today.

Big contribution in Jharkhand

While living in Jharkhand, Khare implemented many reforms. He also held the post of Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, Finance-Scheme in the state. During his tenure, many reforms were made such as budget-pre-consultation, execution budget, gender budget, regional budget, financial inclusion, direct benefit transfer (DBT) and implementation of various schemes.
Apart from this, he has also served as Human Resource Development Secretary and Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University.

The administrative career of Khare, who graduated from St. Stephen’s College in Delhi and post -graduation in Business Administration from IIM Ahmedabad, has been very spectacular. His working style and decision -making ability gave him a different identity.

How much will you get salary?

In the Government of India, secretary level officers are given a monthly salary of about Rs 2.50 lakh. Along with this, they also get facilities like official vehicle, housing, medical, telephone and other allowances. In such a situation, despite being a retired IAS officer, Khare will also get salary and all facilities around this.
