Rishabh pant historic inning: India’s wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant played a historic innings on the Manchester ground. On the first day of the fourth Test against England, Pant suffered a toe injury, due to which retired hurt. On the second day of the match, Pant once again batted, then he broke a historic record of former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Pant has become India’s highest half -century wicketkeeper batsman in a series.
Rishabh Pant broke MS Dhoni’s record
Rishabh Pant scored a brilliant half -century of 54 runs in 75 balls in the first innings of the Manchester Test. Pant put this fifth fifty in this series against England. With this, Pant became the wicketkeeper batsman to score the most half -century in a series. Earlier, this record was in the name of India’s legendary player Farooq Engineer and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
- Former India veteran Farooq Engineer had put four fifty in the same series against England in 1972-73.
- Former captain and cricketer of the Indian team MS Dhoni has done this feat twice. Dhoni first scored four half-centuries against Australia in 2008-09. At the same time, in 2014, four fifty against England in 2014.
- Now Rishabh Pant, vice -captain of India’s Test team, has put five fifty till the first innings of the fourth Test in this series. Now Pant has three innings left in this series. Pant can make his record better.
Pant’s thumb injury
On the first day of the Manchester Test of India’s wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, Jofra Archer suffered a toe injury. Pant was putting a sweep shot, but instead of the ball on the bat, he started on his thumb. Rishabh Pant got stung by the pain of this injury. Pant had to go to retired hurt.
