After the controversy escalated, Maithili Thakur has given clarification on this. Maithili said that she did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiments. She said that she has always respected Paag and has been working as an ambassador of Mithila’s culture.

After this matter gained prominence, UP BJP MLA Ketki Singh gave clarification. He said that this Paag is a symbol of respect not only for me but for any Indian in the whole world. I did not insult him. I had said that just as we respect this pug, every daughter of the society should also be respected. Maithili Thakur is also the daughter of Mithila and she should be respected as much as this idiot.

RJD candidate Vinod Mishra said that the insult to Mithila Pag cannot be tolerated and the people of Alinagar will respond to it. On this, Ketki Singh herself came forward and said that her intention was not to insult Paag in any way. Wearing a Paag on his head, he told the media that Paag has as much respect for him as it does for anyone else and every daughter in the society should also have the same respect.

Mithila Paag is not just a garment. It is a symbol of culture, tradition and self-respect of Mithila region. An honored person, scholar or guest is shown respect by wearing it. Therefore, insult to Paag is considered a serious issue related to the identity of Mithila region. This controversy has also increased political excitement in the election environment.
