Ajit Agarkar Press Conference: India’s ODI and T20 teams have been announced for the tour of Australia. After Rohit retired from Test cricket, Gill was given the captaincy of India’s Test team, while now in Rohit’s team, Shubman Gill has also been handed over the command of ODI. At the same time, questions have started to arise about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli playing in the 2027 ODI World Cup. Regarding this, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar has said a lot in the press conference.

Rohit and Virat will play ODI World Cup?

After the announcement of Team India for ODI and T20 series against Australia, selectors and former cricketers Ajit Agarkar were questioned about playing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the 2027 ODI World Cup. Ajit Agarkar said in response to this question that ‘Both Rohit and Virat do not want to say anything about it’.

Virat and Rohit’s retirement

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from this format with India’s victory in T20 World Cup 2024. After this, Rohit took retirement from Test cricket on 7 May before Team India’s tour of England. Five days later, on May 12, Virat Kohli also retired from the Test. But both these players have not yet said anything about retirement from ODI cricket. At the same time, BCCI has no update about this regarding the next ODI World Cup.
