Rohit Sharma was born on 30 April 1987 in Bansod, Nagpur. Born in a Telugu-Marathi-speaking family, Rohit lived with his grandfather and uncle as a child, because his father’s income was low. His mother Purnima Sharma is from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. His father Gurunath Sharma worked as a caretaker of the warehouse of a transport firm. Rohit Sharma had taken his uncle to the cricket academy, he also helped financially. In 1999, he joined the cricket camp with his uncle’s money. In the camp, his coach Dinesh Lad advised him to change his school to Swami Vivekananda International School. Facilities were better here. Rohit Sharma domestic career
He started his List A cricket playing for West Zone in the Deodhar Trophy in Gwalior in March 2005. In the first match, he batted at number eight, in which he scored an unbeaten 31 runs. Rohit made his first class debut in July 2006 against New Zealand A.
He made his Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai in the 2006-07 season and scored 205 off 267 balls against Gujarat. He has scored 9318 runs in 129 first class matches, 13410 runs in 344 list A matches and 12070 runs in 457 matches played in T20.
Rohit International Cricket Career
He made his debut in international cricket in 2007, he played the first match against Ireland which was ODI. The same year he made his T20 debut against England and after 6 years he made his Test debut. He has played 67 Tests, 273 ODIs and 159 T20 international matches. In this, he has scored 4301, 11168 and 4231 runs respectively. In all three formats, Rohit has scored a total of 49 centuries.
