In order to make a place in Team India, the BCCI of India has made the Bronco Test compulsory to make a place in Team India. The Bronco Test is brought from rugby. It is considered a very difficult fitness test. However, 38-year-old Rohit Sharma has passed the Bronco Test and Yo-Yo test. The Indian ODI captain passed the Bronco Test and Yo-Yo test during the fitness camp held at the BCCI’s Center of Excellence. Apart from Rohit, Jaspreet Bumrah, Shubman Gill, Mohammad Siraj, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Yashasvi Jaiswal and the famous Krishna also passed the Bronco Test and Yo-Yo test.

What is Bronco Test?

In today’s era, the schedule of cricket keeps the players very busy, for which cricketers need an alit fitness level. Keeping this in view, Bronco Test has been prepared. It takes a strict test of the players’ cardiovascular capacity and mental capacity, which reflects the physical demands of modern cricket.

The easier the setup of the Bronco Test is, the more challenging it is physically. In this test, four cones are kept at intervals of 0 m, 20 m, 40 meters and 60 meters. Each set involves running and returning to a 20 meter mark, then running and coming back up to a 40 -meter mark, and finally running up to 60 meters mark and coming back. This shuttle pattern has a total race of 240 meters in each set. Players have to complete five sets of it. In such a situation, the race is a total of 1,200 meters. There is no rest interval in it.
