Indian cricket team’s bowling coach Morne Morkel believes that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are fully capable of playing the 2027 ODI World Cup. This statement of Morkel has come before the first ODI match between India vs South Africa to be held on 30 November. Let us tell you that India vs South Africa 3 match ODI series will be played from 30 November-6 December.
Rohit and Virat should play World Cup – Morne Morkel
Morne Morkel said, “The World Cup is still a long way away, both of them are excellent cricketers. As long as they work hard and maintain their fitness, they can definitely play. I have always believed in experience and you cannot get such experience anywhere else. They have won many trophies, know how to play in big tournaments. So they can definitely play in the World Cup.”
Morkel also told that he himself has played against Rohit and Virat. Morkel said, “I had many sleepless nights after bowling against him. As a bowler, I know the level of practice required to play against him. I am in support of Rohit and Virat playing the 2027 World Cup.”
Rohit in good form
India vs South Africa first ODI match will be played on Sunday, 30 November in Ranchi. The second ODI match will be held on 3rd December in Raipur and the final match will be held on 6th December in Visakhapatnam.
Rohit Sharma is in good form, having recently scored a century in the ODI series against Australia. This was the 33rd century of his ODI career. On the other hand, Virat Kohli had flopped in two consecutive matches, but showed signs of returning to good form by scoring unbeaten 74 runs in the last ODI against Australia.
