Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has wiped out the left parties in Nepal. Under the leadership of Rabi Lamichhane and Balen Shah, RSP badly defeated former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Pushp Kamal Dahal Prachanda. Even Balen Shah defeated Oli in the election on the seat itself. After the announcement of election results in Nepal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Rabi Lamichhane and Balen Shah on phone and congratulated them for the victory.
