A shocking incident has come to light from Thrikkanpuram area of Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, where 32-year-old RSS worker Anand Thampi committed suicide on Saturday (15 November 2025) evening. Such a big step was taken due to not getting BJP ticket for the upcoming local body elections and alleged mental harassment.
According to ANI report, family members said that Thampi was found hanging in his house at around 5:20 pm on Saturday evening. Shortly before this, he sent a suicide note to his friends through WhatsApp, in which he made serious allegations against local BJP and RSS leaders.
Tension increased due to not getting tickets
Thampi wanted to contest elections from Thrikkannapuram ward. When BJP did not give him the ticket, he decided to contest as an independent candidate. After that, tension increased between him and local officials. He wrote in his suicide note that there was constant pressure on him from local leaders. He was threatened. An attempt was made to stop him from contesting elections independently and an attempt was made to break him mentally.
Many serious allegations including soil mafia in suicide note
Thampi clearly wrote some names in his suicide note. He wrote the names of Thrikkannapuram ward BJP candidate Vinod Kumar, area secretary Udayakumar, constituency committee member Krishna Kumar and city caretaker Rajesh. In the note, he alleged that these people were associated with the soil mafia in the area and were stopping him from contesting elections for financial and political gains. Such allegations are a big blow to the local unit of BJP before the elections. This incident has brought a sensitive turning point for the party not only at the political but also at the organizational level.
Being an RSS member was my biggest mistake.
In his note, Thampi expressed the pain of his long association with RSS and wrote that I do not want any BJP or RSS member to see my body. I made the biggest mistake of my life by becoming an RSS worker. The identity with which I lived brought me to this brink.
