Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishore seems to be in trouble. Just before the Bihar Assembly elections, there was a ruckus regarding the Voter ID card. It is being said that Prashant’s name is registered in the voter lists of two states, West Bengal and Bihar. Now the Election Commission has taken an important step on this matter. Information has been sought from the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal regarding PK’s Voter ID card.
The Central Election Commission has contacted the Chief Electoral Officer of Bengal. Information has been sought from him regarding the case of Prashant Kishore. However, the reply has not yet come from Bengal.
PK had applied for a new voter ID card
According to Election Commission sources, after coming to Bihar, Prashant Kishore had made a new Voter ID card by filling Form 6, whereas Form 6 clearly says that only those people who will become voters for the first time will fill it. Along with this, an oath is also given in it that I do not have any other voter card and if this information is found wrong then there is also a provision of 2 years of imprisonment.
What are the rules regarding the new voter ID card?
If we talk about the rules, Prashant Kishore should have got his vote transferred from West Bengal to Bihar by filling Form 8, but he did not do so. PK filled Form 6 instead and got a new ID card made. The Central Election Commission is waiting for the reply of the Returning Officer of Bengal. Even after this, information regarding the next step will be available.
