Meanwhile, Ukraine’s two largest cities are said to be under Russian attack. Officials say that 13 people have been injured in this attack.
According to Reuters report, on the morning of Saturday (January 24), there were Russian attacks on Ukraine’s two largest cities, in which 2 people were injured in the capital Kiev and 11 in Kharkiv, located in the north-east. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that both people injured in the capital were in serious condition and were being treated in hospital. He said that the strikes took place in two districts located on both banks of the Dnipro River, which divides the capital into two parts.

Klitschko wrote on Telegram, “Kiev is under heavy enemy attack.” Ukraine’s Air Force said both drones and missiles were used in the attack on the capital. The head of Kiev’s military administration, Timur Tkachenko, said that drone strikes took place in at least 3 districts, causing fires in at least 2 places.
Electricity and heating system stopped
Kiev has been hit by two large-scale overnight attacks since New Year, knocking out power and heating to hundreds of residential buildings. Emergency crews are still working to restore services to residents. The temperature had fallen to −13 °C (9 °F) overnight. Igor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, 30 kilometers (18 miles) from the border, which is a frequent target of Russian attacks, said Russian drones struck several districts, wounding 11 people.
Mayor Igor Terekhov said on Telegram that drones had attacked a hostel for displaced people, a hospital and a maternity hospital. The latest attacks come as negotiators from Ukraine, Russia and the United States work toward a resolution to the nearly four-year-old war in the United Arab Emirates.
