America carried out a massive attack in Venezuela on Saturday (January 03, 2026). The US Army arrested Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. According to the US Foreign Secretary, a criminal trial will be conducted against him in America. On the other hand, Russia got angry over this action of America and on the other hand, the European Union distanced itself from the matter. Many countries around the world, including Russia and Iran, strongly criticized the American attack and called it a ‘blatant violation’ of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Russia has expressed its anger over this action of America. The Russian Foreign Ministry described the US action as ‘very worrying’ and condemnable and said, ‘The excuses used to justify such actions are useless. Ideological enmity has won over practical business-like thinking and the desire to build trust and pre-arranged relationships.
Latin America should remain a region of peace: Russia
Russia stressed that all partners who have grievances against each other should find a solution through dialogue and stop further escalation. The statement further said, ‘Latin America must remain the same peaceful region that it described itself as in 2014, and Venezuela must have the right to determine its own destiny without any harmful outside interference, let alone military.’
Russia further said that we reaffirm our solidarity with the Venezuelan people and our support for their Bolivarian leadership path, which is aimed at safeguarding the country’s national interests and sovereignty.
We condemn this action of America: China
China’s Foreign Ministry has said that it is shocked by the airstrike taken by America against a sovereign country and the action taken against its President. Also strongly condemns this action of US. China said, ‘Such hegemonic actions of the US seriously violate international law and Venezuela’s sovereignty. Also, there is a threat to peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean region. China strongly opposes this.
The Foreign Ministry said, ‘We call on the US to adhere to the purposes and principles of international law and the UN Charter and to stop violating the sovereignty and security of other countries.’
What did Cuba say on America’s military action?
News agency Xinhua reported that Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel also condemned America’s ‘criminal attack’ against Venezuela on Saturday and demanded an immediate response from the international community.
In a social media post, President Canales said that Latin America is being brutally attacked. He called it state terrorism against the brave people of Venezuela and our America. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez also condemned the attack and said the bombings and military action in Caracas and other areas of the country were acts of cowardice against a country that has not attacked the United States or any other country.
America’s action against the principles of UN Charter: Iran
Iran’s ministry also strongly condemned the US military attack on Venezuela, calling the attack an “act of aggression” and a clear violation of the United Nations Charter and basic principles of international law.
Iran reaffirmed Venezuela’s right to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and right to self-determination, and urged the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by immediately stopping the US attack on the country.
