India’s friend Russia has claimed that it has prepared a vaccine against cancer. This vaccine named enteromics Enteromix is based on the MRNA technique, the same technique that was also used in creating the Kovid-19 vaccine. According to Russia’s Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) head Veronica Squortsova, the vaccine has successfully completed all pre-clinical trials, which has confirmed its safety and effectiveness.
Which cancer will work on
Researchers say that its first goal will be colorectal cancer called large intestine cancer. This vaccine instructs the body’s cells to make special proteins, which activate immune response against cancer cells. Immune response is the same process that protects itself from viruses, bacteria and other harmful elements. If further clinical trials are successful, this vaccine can prove to be a big revolution in cancer treatment. Let us know which companies are doing this work in India.
Which companies are making vaccines in India
The biggest achievement has been achieved by Serum Institute of India recently. This company based in Pune has designed India’s first indigenous HPV vaccine Cervix. This vaccine protects against cervical cervical cancer, which is the main cause of cancer deaths in women. According to reports, its price has been kept only 200–400 rupees, while the cost of foreign vaccine is up to several thousand rupees. The government has included it in the National Immunization Program.
Apac biotech
APAC Biotech of Delhi has achieved another major success in cancer treatment. The company has developed India’s first approved dendritic cell based individual cancer immunotherapy ApCeden®. It is prepared from the patient’s own blood cells and is proving effective in cancer like solid tumors. At the same time, Indian Institute of Science IISC, Bengaluru has recently developed a synthetic compound, which can increase the effectiveness of cancer vaccine. It accelerates the production of antibodies by transporting the medicine to the lymph glands. Scientists believe that in future it will give a new direction to cancer vaccine research.
Apart from this, which companies involved
The unit Ichnos Glenmark Innovation of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals is also included in this race. The company has developed a new therapy called ISB-2001, which is for blood cancer called multiple myeloma. It is currently in the Phase-1 clinical trial and has been compromised with the US big company AbBVIE.
Apart from this, ImmunoACT (IIT Bombay’s spin-off company) has prepared India’s first indigenous Car-t therapy Nexcar 19. It is especially effective in cancer like leukemia and lymphoma. In the clinical trial, 67% of the patients reacted positively, in half of which the cancer was completely eliminated.
At the same time, institutions like PGI Chandigarh, KEM Mumbai and Actrec Mumbai are also running early clinical trials of cancer medicines under the Indian Council of Medical Research.
