A 7.0 magnitude earthquake was felt in 121 km east of Severo-Kurilsk, Russia. This earthquake occurred at around 11 am Indian time. After this earthquake, the craseninicov volcano has become active on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
According to the ‘Xinhua’ news agency, the earthquake center was at a depth of 40.8 km, which was recorded at 50.53 degrees northern latitude and 157.83 degrees east longitude. Due to this earthquake, the crushninicov volcano on Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula also exploded. According to the Kamchatka Volcanic Irption Response Team (Kvert), the 1,856 meter high was seen to be raised ashes up to about 6,000 meters height from this volcano.
Volcano exploded for the first time in 600 years
Kvert chief Olga Girina told RIA Novosti, “This is the first explosion of Krashenininicov in 600 years”. He said that lava dome is being constructed on the slopes of volcanoes, as well as a continuous ash from the crater located in the north direction with sharp steam and gas emissions. This volcano is named on the explorer Stephen Crasninikov.
The volcano is made up of two overwhelmed stratozwalamukhi within a huge Caldera located in the Chronotskey Nature Reserve, about 50 km from the regional capital Petropavalovsk-Kampachkski. The last lava leakage in Crasninikov was close to 1463. Smoke-related activity was recorded in 1963, but no explosion or leakage was reported.
Earthquake of 8.7 magnitude came on 30 July
This seismic activity comes after a major earthquake of 8.7 magnitude on July 30, which is now equivalent to the sixth most powerful earthquake recorded worldwide. Kremlin confirmed that there were no casualties in Russia. At the same time, since the July 30 earthquake, more than 125 shocks have been felt in the region with 4.4 or more intensity. Of these, at least three shocks were recorded of more than 6.0 intensity, including a powerful blow of 6.9 magnitude, which came about 45 minutes after the early earthquake.
Tsunami alert removed
Constant shocks are being felt in the Kuril Islands. Earthquake experts say that after any major earthquake, tremors come from the first few hours to several days. Their number and intensity decreases over time.
Meanwhile, the tsunami warning released for air after the July 30 earthquake has now been removed. The tsunami warnings released for Japan and American coastal areas have also been reduced to consult.
