Russia ready to donate $1 billion for Gaza peace initiative
Putin also said that Russia can give $ 1 billion of its frozen assets in America to Donald Trump’s proposed ‘Board of Peace’ initiative. This board is to be formed to monitor the ceasefire plan in Gaza. He said that this contribution can be made in view of Russia’s special relations with the Palestinian people.
Talks have already taken place with America
The Russian President said that this proposal has already been discussed with Washington. He said the issue would be taken up further in talks with Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Moscow on Thursday. Putin gave this statement in the meeting of the Security Council of Russia.
How much Russian property is frozen in America?
According to estimates, Russia’s assets worth about 4 to 5 billion dollars are frozen in America. This amount is much less than the total reconstruction expenditure of Ukraine. Russia’s assets worth about $300 billion are frozen worldwide, most of which are kept in Europe.
This initiative is being considered as an attempt to woo America
