Russia ukraine war: Russian President Vladimir Putin has also included North Korea in countries with which he is ready to work on the resolution of Ukraine war. Talking about the attempts to resolve the war during Russia’s Marmank visit, President Putin said that not only the United States, but also China, India, Brazil, South Africa, all BRICS countries and North Korea can also become partners for cooperation.
North Korea has sent thousands of its soldiers
News agency Yonhap quoted the Russian news agency Tas as saying that President Putin said that he welcomes any attempt to resolve the situation. BRICS is an international organization, including ten countries, such as Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa and Egypt. This comment has come amid growing military tension between Russia and North Korea over Ukraine War, in which Pyongyang has deployed thousands of soldiers in favor of Russia.
Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andre Rudankco recently said that preparations are going on for North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s visit to Russia this year. Earlier on Thursday, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was awarded a medal by the Russian government on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day.
Kim Jong-un medal given to Kim Jong-un in memory of Soviet soldiers
According to the embassy social media post, this medal is a symbol of the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany in World War II and was given to Kim Jong-un on the instructions of President Putin. An award ceremony was held at the Mansude Assembly Hall in Pyongyang, where Russian Ambassador Alexander Matsegora handed over a medal and certificate to Kong Yun-Soo, vice-chairman of the Supreme People’s Assembly of North Korea.
The certificate states that Kim Jong-un has this medal to be martyred in North Korea and has been given for his contribution in the memory of the Soviet soldiers buried there. This medal was given a month before Victory Day, which is celebrated on 9 May. Russia had earlier given similar medals to Kim Jong-un on the occasion of 70th and 75th anniversary in May 2015 and May 2020.
