National General Secretary of Congress and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot described the budget presented by the state BJP government in the Assembly yesterday (February 11) as disappointing. He has called it a double attack on the people of the state by the double engine government.

Sachin Pilot said that earlier Rajasthan was ignored by the BJP government in the Union Budget and now the state government has dashed the hopes of farmers, youth, women and middle class through its budget.

State government is not concerned about the safety of students- Pilot

Sachin Pilot said that taking cognizance of the accident in Jhalawar school, Rajasthan High Court had strongly reprimanded the government and the government had also accepted through an affidavit that Rs 21 thousand crores are required for the repair of schools in the state. Despite this, a provision of only Rs 500 crore in the state budget shows that the state government is not concerned about the safety of the students. Through this budget, the government has put the future of children in darkness.

Sachin Pilot said that due to financial mismanagement of the state government, the revenue deficit has increased, the government will have to take loan which will increase inflation. The government has tried to hide its failure of two years with the illusion of words. He said that like the budget of the previous years of the government, this budget is also not going to get off the ground.

Big announcements are limited only on paper instead of on ground – Pilot

Pilot said that big announcements like High Tech City, IT City and Aero City have remained limited only on paper instead of on the ground. The government is completely silent on the achievements of its last budget. Expressing concern over the dire situation of unemployment in the state, he said that non-fulfillment of the government’s promise of providing four lakh jobs and non-disclosure of private sector employment data shows the government’s failure. Attacking the government on the issues of farmers and the poor, Pilot said that the farm pound subsidy in canal areas has been stopped for two years. Not increasing the social security pension is a direct injustice to the poor people of the state.

Possible threat of US tariffs on textile industry – Pilot

Raising the issue of lack of industrial and environmental foresight in the budget, he said that the government does not have any concrete policy regarding the possible threat of American tariffs on the textile industry and the conservation of the state tree Khejri in the name of solar parks. Raising questions on transparency, he also made it clear that the government is making its intentions doubtful by hiding from the public the reality of the investment of Rising Rajasthan and the fact that funds are not received from the Center for the Jal Jeevan Mission.
