A boy who left a job worth crores and a comfortable life, just because he had to keep the promise he made to himself. To serve our country and people. Today Saim Raza is an IPS officer and his story is an inspiration for every youth who is fighting for his dreams.
Saim Raza was born in Muzaffarpur. His father, Munawar Raza, worked in State Bank of India (SBI) and mother is a housewife. His parents always supported Saim in his studies and decisions. When Saim decided to leave his job worth lakhs and prepare for UPSC, his parents not only trusted him but also completely supported him.
Data Scientist job and comfortable life
Saim did his early studies from Muzaffarpur and further went to Bengaluru for B.Tech. He got a job as a data scientist in a big tech company in Bengaluru, in which his annual package was Rs 12 lakh. Despite having a comfortable job and a respectable position, a different desire arose in Saim’s heart that he wanted to do something for the welfare of the society and people.
Covid changed the direction of life
During the time of Covid, Saim returned to his parents. Even after returning home, he continued his work from home job, but had only one thought in his mind – to serve the society. Despite a salary of lakhs and a comfortable job, he was not satisfied. Then he decided that now the aim of his life would not be just to get a package but to serve the country.
Preparation started at home without coaching
Saim talked to his parents about this decision. With the consent of his father and blessings of his mother, he started preparing for UPSC Civil Services. He neither took the help of any coaching nor explained himself and prepared himself instead of any big book. Kept preparing for UPSC with hard work, revision and confidence day and night for three years.
Story of success in UPSC and becoming IPS
In the year 2023, Saim appeared for the UPSC Civil Services Examination for the first time and secured 188th rank. By getting such a high rank in the general category, he fulfilled his dream of becoming an IPS. Now he got a cadre in his home state Bihar and started serving the country. His hard work and determination have become an inspiration for every youth today.
