What is Silent Salt Epidemic?
Scientific institutions like ICMR and NIE have warned that the habit of eating salt to people in India has now become a silent salt epidemic. This means that people are eating so much salt without understanding that it is gradually causing serious and life-threatening diseases like high blood pressure, heart diseases and brain stroke.

In a study, it was found that most of the people of India are eating excessive salt daily. WHO says that a person should eat less than 5 grams of salt a day. But in most areas, people are eating about 9.2 grams of salt daily. At the same time, on an average, 5.6 grams of salt is being eaten daily in many villages. According to the study, it is not considered right for your health and it becomes the cause of a serious disease.

How to rescue?
Scientists have explained a special way to make people aware, reduce this danger and improve their habits. In this, people are being advised to use low sodium salt i.e. such salt, which is less sodium and good minerals like potassium or magnesium are more.

If people use low sodium salt in daily food, then blood pressure can be reduced by 7/4 mmhg, this also improves heart health and can be very beneficial for high blood pressure patients. Apart from this, you should pay attention to the amount of salt in food to prevent diseases caused by eating too much salt, try to use low sodium salt. Also avoid eating packets and processed.
