Earlier, Karan Johar had said that the story of Shazia Bano and her victory was so emotional that after the end of the film, he cried and could not speak for some time. He applauded loudly and expressed regret that he could not watch the film in the theatre. Alia Bhatt called Yami a ‘queen’ and wrote that this is her best performance till date.
