There is big news of the accident from Samastipur district of Bihar. Here, a tractor-trolley filled with people returning after immersing the idol of Goddess Saraswati became unbalanced and overturned into a pit about 20 feet deep. In this tragic accident, two innocent children died on the spot, while many people including the tractor driver got seriously injured after getting trapped under the trolley.
The incident took place near Namapur Shanti River Bridge of Chakamhesi police station area. About 25-30 people of Bhuskaul village of Chakamhesi police station area had gone on a tractor from Sormar Dhal to the banks of Namapur Shanti river for immersion of Saraswati idol.
The accident happened due to giving way to the car
After immersion, everyone was returning back to the village in the same tractor. Meanwhile, due to giving side to a four-wheeler vehicle near Shanti Nadi bridge, the tractor lost its balance and slipped from the road and overturned in the pit below.
After the accident, four people were buried under the tractor, which included the tractor driver and three others. Hearing the screams, a large number of people from nearby villages including Namapur gathered at the spot. The villagers immediately called for a JCB and lifted the overturned tractor and pulled out the people buried under it.
Death of 4 and 7 year old innocent
All the injured were immediately taken to Kalyanpur PHC, where doctors declared 7-year-old son Abhiraj and 4-year-old daughter Anushka, resident of Bhuskaul village, Umashankar Thakur dead. The condition of tractor driver Vijay Trivedi and Bittu Ram’s son Suman Kumar is said to be critical.
After first aid, both have been referred to Sadar Hospital Samastipur for better treatment. As soon as information about the incident was received, an atmosphere of chaos was created on the spot. Police have also reached the spot and started investigating the matter. After the accident, there is mourning in Bhuskaul village and the family members are in bad condition, crying.
