IRS officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation case in the Honorable Delhi High Court. This petition is related to the demand for permanent and compulsory prohibition, declaration and damages. Case actor Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., OTT platform has been filed against Netflix and other sides.

Sameer Wankhede alleges that the web series ‘Bads of Bollywood’, produced by Red Chillies and broadcast on Netflix, is false, malicious and defamatory. Through this series, a negative and misleading image of agencies taking action against drugs has been introduced, which is weakening public confidence in law enforcement institutions.

Wankhede said that this series has been deliberately made in such a way that his reputation can be tarnished, especially when the Sameer Wankhede vs Aryan Khan case is currently under consideration in the Honorable Bombay High Court and NDPS Special Court, Mumbai.

Apart from this, a character in the series is shown making pornographic gestures (middle finger) after raising the slogan “Satyamev Jayate”. This work is an insult to the national symbol and is a serious violation of the Prevention of Insults to National Honor Act, 1971, under which there is a provision for punitive action.
Demand for compensation of Rs 2 crore
Also, the content of the series is also opposite to various sections of the Information Technology Act and the Code of India (BNS) as it attempts to hurt national sentiments through porn and objectionable presentation. In this petition, there has been a demand for compensation of Rs 2 crore, which has been said to donate for the treatment of cancer patients in Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital.
