IRS officer Sameer Wankhede had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against the web series ‘The Bads of Bollywood’. In this, he had filed a petition claiming defamation of Rs 2 crore against actor Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment, OTT platform Netflix and others.
Talking on this case, Sameer Wankhede said in an exclusive interview with IANS that if people make fun of the department then who will fight for the nation. During this, he also said that his family is receiving death threats, but he is not afraid or retreating.
What did Sameer Wankhede say?
Talking about this case, Sameer Wankhede said, “I or other officers are engaged in the service of the nation. You cannot insult them. If you want to make fun of yourself, do it with your family, but you cannot make fun of those who sacrifice for the nation. If you do this, then who will fight for the nation, then which child will come into the police? All those who crack UPSC and come here, have Satyamev in their hearts.” Jayate settles down. People have a lot of respect for it, so you can’t make fun of it.

He further said, “My family has nothing to do with this. They are receiving threats from different fan clubs which are in UAE, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Why are they being dragged into this? I will fight for the truth and I have full faith in our justice system, I will definitely get justice. I have fought for the country for 19 years and will continue to fight in future also.”
Let us tell you that the hearing of this defamation case is going on in Delhi High Court. In the last hearing, the High Court had issued summons to Red Chillies Entertainment Private Limited and ordered them to present their side. This case was filed on 8 October 2025.
Sameer Wankhede had alleged in his petition that due to the web series ‘The Bads of Bollywood’, the reputation, dignity and public image of him and his family has been seriously damaged. Because of this he was also trolled on social media. The next hearing of this case will now be held on October 30.
Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Netflix, X Corp (formerly Twitter), Google LLC, Meta Platforms, RPG Lifestyle Media Pvt Ltd and John Doe have been made defendants in this lawsuit.
