Samsung started ultra-thin smartphones by launching Galaxy S25 Edge. After this, companies like Techno and Apple have also launched their thin phones. However, Samsung has suffered a big setback regarding this phone and its sales are not as per the company’s expectations. Due to this, Samsung has canceled the plan to launch the next generation model S26 Edge of this phone.
Samsung will discontinue Edge lineup
According to Korean media outlet Newspim, Samsung will not launch the S26 Edge next year. This decision has been taken in view of the low sales of S25 Edge. The company has also given this message to its employees that the Edge line is being discontinued. The company will stop its production once the existing stock is sold. Looking at this experience, there seems to be no possibility of Samsung launching an ultra-slim phone in the near future.
Sales figures not satisfactory
According to reports, only 1.31 million units of S25 Edge have been sold till August this year. In comparison, S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra have sold 8.28 million, 5.05 million and 12.18 million units respectively. However, one thing to keep in mind is that the S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra were launched in January, while the Edge model was launched in May.
This model will be launched in place of S26 Edge
Earlier there were reports that Samsung will launch Edge model in place of S26 Plus next year, but looking at the current situation, S26 Plus’ place in the lineup has been confirmed. Next year, the company will launch Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra models in its flagship series. S26 Pro will be launched in place of the base model of the lineup.
