Sanju Samson will captain the Kerala team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This tournament is going to start from 26th November. Recently, Samson was in the news regarding IPL trade, who has now left Rajasthan Royals and joined Chennai Super Kings. Now before the IPL auction, he will be seen captaining the Kerala team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Sanju’s brother Sally Samson has also got a place in the Kerala squad. The pair of brothers were earlier seen playing together in the Kerala Cricket League. Let us remind you that Sally Samson captained the Kochi Blue Tigers team in season 2 of the Kerala Cricket League.

Apart from the Samson brothers, Ahmed Imran has got a place in the Kerala team, who will be the vice-captain of the team. Vignesh Puthur and Vishnu Vinod, who played for Mumbai Indians in IPL, have also got a place in the team. Akhil Scaria, the bowler who took the most wickets in the last two seasons of KCL, is also a part of the squad, but Sachin Baby has not been able to get a place.

Kerala has been placed in Group A along with Chandigarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, Railways, Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai. The first match of Sanju Samson and Company will be with Odisha on 26th November and all the matches of Kerala will be played in Lucknow. Some players will leave for Lucknow on November 23, while other players will reach Lucknow from Indore, where the Kerala team played its last Ranji Trophy match with Madhya Pradesh.

Last season, Kerala could not even progress beyond the group stage in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This time Sanju Samson would like to change the fortunes of the team under his captaincy.
