‘Satan and demonic forces will last longer…’, why did RSS give such statement on Shankaracharya controversy?

‘Where gods and humanity reside, the devil and demonic forces do not last long…’, this is the statement of senior Rashtriya Swayam Sangh (RSS) campaigner Indresh Kumar. Indresh Kumar has created a stir by saying this amid the uproar over Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati being stopped from taking a bath in Mauni Amavasya in the Magh Mela.

Indresh Kumar had come to attend a program in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, where he was asked that Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has alleged that stopping him from going to the Sangam in Prayagraj on the occasion of the bath of Mauni Amavasya is misbehavior with him. On this Indresh Kumar said, ‘What misbehavior has happened? Some people say that it has come in his (Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati) nature to stand against the government and the government system, therefore I would pray to God that no matter who he is, wherever he is, he should give everyone the freedom to live in peace and harmony.

Indresh Kumar said, ‘Magh Mela is celebrated all over the country, there is no pilgrimage where Magh Mela is not held. It is celebrated with great pomp and show, so it was celebrated here too. When someone tried to do some mischief, he got no results. Where gods and humanity reside, the devil and demonic forces do not last long.

On January 18, on the day of Mauni Amavasya, Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth Badrinath, Swami Avimukteshwaranand reached Saraswati Sangam for a bath, but the fair administration stopped him from going for a bath riding on a palanquin. After this there was a scuffle between Shankaracharya’s supporters and the police and Shankaracharya got angry over this and sat on a dharna.

Shankaracharya’s protest is continuing and he is demanding that the fair administration should apologize to him, he will not enter the ashram until the apology is made. On the other hand, the fair administration took strict action and sent him a notice on Monday and asked him to prove within 24 hours that he is Shankaracharya.
