Sharmila Tagore News: Filmmaker Satyajit Ray’s 1970 film Aranyer day is made in discussion. The film was a screen in the Cannes Classes section in the film Cannes Film Festive. The film featured stars like Saumitra Chatterjee, Subhendu Chatterjee, Samit Bhanja, Rabi Ghosh, Sharmila Tagore, Kaberi Bose, Simi Grewal and Aparna Sen. Simi Grewal and Sharmila Tagore also arrived at Cannes Film Festival.
When Sharmila Tagore got Satyajit Ray’s film
Recently, Sharmila Tagore spoke about this film. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Sharmila Tagore said, ‘Satyajit Ray asked me that you will work in my film? I want you for a month for the film. In the month of May. I said yes without thinking. Then I kept the phone and said, O God, I have committed Shakti Samanta, he was doing ‘Queen of my dreams’ in the month of May.
Further Sharmila said, ‘Rajesh Khanna was very busy at that time. He was about to work with 12 producers. He dated everyone. I told Shakti ji that I have to do this film. No matter how I celebrated him and worked with Satyajit Ray.

Sharmila Tagore stayed in the watchman’s room
Sharmila further said, ‘When we were shooting for the film, we were all living in different places because there was a shortage of space. Simi Grewal, Kaberi Bose stayed in a bungalow in the neighborhood village. Satyajit Ray and Soumitra Chatterjee stayed at different places. I, Samit nephew, Subhendu Chatterjee, Rabi Ghosh stayed in another place. I stayed in the watchman’s room. There was a water cooler there. It was very hot at that time. You cannot even imagine how much heat was there. We used to shoot only from 5.30 am to 9 am and from 3 pm to 6 pm in the evening. The rest of the time we were just making bonds. We became good friends. It was a very difficult place.
