Citing an official letter of Delhi Police, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee accused Bangla of calling Bangla as Bangladeshi language. He called it a conspiracy. Now Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has also responded to this issue. He said that calling ‘Bangla’ a Bangladeshi language, an insult to the entire Bengal and India.
Former Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj wrote on the social media platform X, “To call Bangla language a Bangladeshi language, the whole of Bengal and India are an insult to the country. Millions of bungalows fighting the British are an insult to freedom fighters. Strict action should be taken on it. ”He also tagged the post of TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee.

Abhishek Banerjee raised the issue from Delhi Police’s letter
In fact, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee mentioned the official letter issued by Delhi Police in which Bangla is written to Bangladeshi language. He wrote on the social media platform X, “For the last several months, Bengali speaking people are being targeted, harassed and detained in BJP ruled states.”

The TMC leader further wrote, “Now, in a shocking incident, Delhi Police has described Bangla as ‘Bangladeshi language’ in an official letter. This is not just a clerical error, but is another thoughtful attempt by the BJP to discredit Bengal for narrow political propaganda, to weaken our cultural identity and to make West Bengal equal to Bangladesh.

Abhishek Banerjee also wrote, “This is a direct violation of Article 343 and Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. There is no language called ‘Bangladeshi’. To call Bangla a foreign language is not just an insult, this is an attack on our identity, culture and belonging. Bengali is not an outsider in its own motherland. That is why we call BJP anti -Bangla. They do not respect India’s diversity. They flourish on partition.
He also demanded immediate suspension of investigating officer Amit Dutt and a formal public apology from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
