There is a debate going on in the film industry these days regarding Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone’s demand for eight-hour shift. Someone supported this demand of Deepika and someone opposed it. Now veteran Bollywood actor Saurabh Shukla has also jumped into this open debate. While talking openly about the work culture in the industry, he has emphasized that we should focus on work more than time.
‘8 hour shift is not always right‘
In an interview, actor Saurabh Shukla said, ‘An eight-hour shift is not always right. One should focus on work more than time. He also said, I think, if you are in flow, you work half or an hour more than your working hours, then you should not complain about it. Because you are getting a lot in the bargain. You are getting continuity of that thinking and continuity of that flow.
‘There should be a time limit but…‘
Saurabh Shukla also said, ‘There should be time limit of work and fixed hours of shift but this is not the main thing. The thing you are making or the work you are doing is more important.
‘Focus on work, not on the clock‘
Actor Saurabh Shukla said, ‘At work we look at the watch and say hey! It’s 6 o’clock or 8 o’clock, I have to go home, but I shouldn’t do that. Instead of paying attention to the clock, we should pay more attention to the work we are doing.
Let us tell you that after being dropped from Prabhas’ upcoming film ‘Spirit’ last year, Deepika Padukone had demanded an eight-hour shift. Since then the debate on this continues.
