Sawan 2025: A unique scene of devotion to Lord Shiva was seen on the first Monday of Sawan in Nath Nagari Bareilly today. From three o’clock in the dawn, long queues of devotees were held in the city’s major Nath temples Alakhnath, Banakhandinath, Tibirinath, Tapeshwarnath, Dhopeshwarnath and Pashupatinath. The Shiva devotees who came to Kavad with Ganga water filled the atmosphere with reverence and devotion with the joy of “Bol Bomb” and “Har-Har Mahadev”.
Devotees gathered in Alakhnath temple
A large number of devotees arrived at the city’s oldest and major temple Alakhnath. According to the temple management, millions of devotees are expected to visit throughout the day. Mahant Kalu Giri said that this temple has been a place of practice of ascetic saints and saints, where every wish of those coming is fulfilled. On the first Monday of Sawan, special arrangements of Jalabhishek, Bhandare and Rest Sthal have been made in the temple, so that the Kanwari can get the facility.
Lines installed in Dhopeshwarnath temple from 1:30 am
A large crowd of devotees was also seen in the famous Dhopeshwarnath temple of Cantt area. The queues of devotees started starting from midnight. The doors of the temple were opened at 2:30 pm and the Kawandis first got the opportunity of Jalabhishek. Pandit Devaki Nandan told that devotees are being duly worshiped, consecrated and adorned by Lord Shiva, due to which the atmosphere remains devotional.
Security system
In view of the huge crowd gathered on the first Monday of Sawan, the administration has made strict security arrangements. Heavy police forces and volunteers have been deployed considering the city as a sensitive area. Along with the monitoring of the police in every Nath temple, the arrangement of CCTV watch has also been ensured so that the safety of the devotees is maintained and the events are concluded peacefully.
Shiva devotees reached from every district
The religious importance of Bareilly is known all over the country as “Nath Nagari”. On this holy festival of Sawan, devotees from different districts of Uttar Pradesh have reached Bareilly to see Baba Bholenath and bless them. Devotees believe that life becomes successful and happy only by Shivdarshan in this holy city. In this way, the religious and cultural glory of Bareilly shone once again on the first Monday of Sawan.
