Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing during a meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Sangathan (SCO) on Monday morning. During this, he conveyed the best wishes and greetings on behalf of President of India Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Foreign Minister shared the information of this meeting on the social media platform X (East Twitter) and wrote, “This morning met President Xi Jinping with his fellow SCO Foreign Ministers in Beijing. The greetings of President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought him to him. President Xi Jinping informed about the recent development of our bilateral relations. This regard gives important to our leaders in this regard.”

Discussion on India-China relations in SCO meeting

According to sources, subjects like recent progress, mutual cooperation and regional stability were discussed between Jaishankar and Xi Jinping in India-China bilateral relations. The Foreign Minister also clarified that India considers dialogue at the leadership level to be very important and is moving in the same direction.

Why is this meeting important?

In the last few years, efforts are being made to continue the talks between India and China in the last few years despite border disputes and business tension. The meeting in Beijing has taken place at a time when the dialogue between the leaders of the two countries on a multilateral platform like SCO is considered a positive sign.
