One of the biggest recruitment examinations of State Bank of India (SBI), one of the probationary officers (PO) exams waiting for the candidates has come. The bank has officially announced that the SBI PO Mains Exam 2025 will be held on 13 September 2025 in the morning shift.
SBI’s Central Recruitment and Promotion Department has said that the admit card and necessary guidelines of the main examination will soon be released on the official website sbi.co.in. Candidates have been advised to keep checking the website continuously, so that no significant updates are missed.
Those who pass prelims will get a chance
This exam is only for those candidates who have succeeded in the recently announced SBI PO Prelims Result 2025. The result of prelims was declared on 1 September, while the exam was held across the country on August 2, 4 and 5. A total of 541 posts (500 regular and 41 backlogs) will be filled through this recruitment campaign.
Selection process in three stages
The selection process of SBI PO recruitment is divided into three large stages. The first phase is prelims exam, the second phase is the main examination and the third and final stage is the psychometric test, group exercise and interview.
In the final phase, candidates will have to undergo a psychometric test for personality profiling. After this, there will be a group exercise, which will be of 20 digits, and interview, which will be of 30 marks. In the end, the merit list will be prepared by adding the marks of all the stages. In this list, the main examination and the total marks of the final stage will be normalized on a scale of 100 marks.
This will be the main exam pattern
SBI PO will be divided into two parts. The first part will be objective test and the second part will be descriptive test.
The objective test will be of 200 marks and its duration will be three hours. It will include four sections. The first section will be Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, in which 40 questions will be asked and it will be 60 marks. The second section will be data analysis and interpretation, it will have 30 questions and a total of 60 marks will be found. The third section will be General, Economy and Banking Awareness, which will have 60 questions and 60 marks will be determined. The fourth section will be the English language, which will have 40 questions but it will be of only 20 marks.
Apart from this, the descriptive test will be of 50 marks and for this, 30 minutes will be available. In this, the candidates will have to solve three questions related to email, report, situation analysis and Presyed writing. The entire main examination will be of a total of 250 marks. There is also a provision of negative marking in it. That is, 1/4 marks will be deducted on every wrong answer.
