Senior IPS SBK Singh has been given the additional charge of Delhi Police Commissioner. SBK Singh of Delhi-IT cadre is a 1988 batch IPS officer. Right now he is the DG of the Home Guard. There are only six months left in his retirement.
Singh is replacing IPS Sanjay Arora. Arora’s term is ending today (July 31, Thursday).
SBK Singh has been the DGP of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh. Along with this, he held many big positions in Delhi Police. He has been a special CP Tech and PI Special CP Law and Order, Special CP Intelligence, Joint CP Crime, Additional CP EOW.
What did the Ministry of Home Affairs say?
The Ministry of Home Affairs said in the order that IPS (AGMUT 1988) SBK Singh is given additional charge of Delhi’s post of Police Commissioner from 01.08.2025 from the approval of the competent authority. He is currently posted as Director General, Home Guards, Delhi.
Apart from SBK Singh, the race of Delhi Police Commissioner includes Gyanendra Pratap Singh (GP Singh) of 1991 batch, Shatrujit Kapoor of 1990 batch, Satish Golcha of 1992 batch and Praveer Ranjan of 1993 batch. Now it will be interesting to see who the government makes the boss of Delhi Police.
