A big update has come out for thousands of medical students waiting for the counseling of NEET PG 2025. After the change in the qualifying cut-off percentile, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has released the complete schedule of the third round of counselling. Along with this, the registration process for the third round has also started. This is considered to be the last and important chance for the candidates who have passed the NEET PG 2025 examination, but till now they have not been able to find the medical college or course of their choice.

According to the information released by MCC, registration for the third round of counseling has started from 15 January 2026 and interested candidates can apply till 26 January 2026. Registration will be done completely online. For this, candidates will have to register themselves by visiting the official website of MCC mcc.nic.in. Candidates who do not apply on time may be out of this round.

This time there has been a lot of discussion and controversy regarding the qualifying cut-off of NEET PG. By making drastic changes in the cut-off, it has been reduced to minus 40 marks. Due to this, SC, ST and OBC category candidates with zero percentile are also getting a chance to participate in counselling. After this decision, a large number of candidates who were earlier left out due to cut-off will also be able to take part in the third round.

Where will you get admission?

Through the third round of counseling of NEET PG 2025, admission to MD, MS and PG diploma courses in government and private medical colleges will be done. The seats for which admission could not be done in the first and second rounds will be filled in this round. In such a situation, candidates have a good chance to choose a better college and specialization as per their rank and cut-off.

According to the schedule of MCC, the process of choice filling has also started with the registration for the third round. Candidates can choose the college and course of their choice from 16 January to 26 January 2026. The last date for choice locking is 26th January. The process of choice locking will start from 4 pm on this day. No changes will be accepted after the stipulated time, hence candidates are advised to fill their preferences thoughtfully.

when will the result come

The result of seat allotment will be released on 29 January 2026. After this, the candidates who will be allotted seats will have to report to their allotted college within the stipulated time limit. The reporting process in the college will run from 30 January to 6 February 2026. During this period, it will be mandatory for the candidates to be present in the college with all their necessary documents. If you do not report on time, your seat may be cancelled.

How to register

The process of registration for the third round has been kept quite easy. Candidates must first visit the official website of MCC. You have to click on ‘PG Medical’ section on the home page. After this, you will have to go to the Candidate Activity Board and click on the link of New Registration 2025. Here candidates will have to log in by entering their NEET PG roll number, password and security PIN.
After logging in, candidates will have to fill their personal information and then select college and specialization. It is important to set the options up and down as per your preference, as seat allotment will be done on the basis of these preferences. After filling all the options, do not forget to lock them. It is also important to take a printout of the application form for future reference.
