NCERT has added a new and special module to school books. The name of this module is Operation Sindoor, which has been prepared for children from class 3 to 12. Its purpose is not only to tell the children about Pakistan’s cowardly act and explain not only about the Pahalgam terror attack, but also to convince India’s strong policy against terrorism and the important role of common people in it. From this module, children will learn how important the contribution of every citizen is to maintain peace and unity in the country.
Pakistan’s role in Pahalgam attack
In this module, the entire story of Pahalgam terror attack is told in a simple and clear manner. It is clearly written in the book that this attack took place at the behest of Pakistan’s military and political leadership. However, Pakistan always denied its role in this attack, but evidence shows that this attack took place on its instigation. NCERT has tried to convince children that the neighboring country has been trying to spread unrest and instability in India for a long time. India has given appropriate reply to these efforts every time and has further strengthened its policy against terrorism.
These attacks are also mentioned in the module
Apart from the Pahalgam attack, there is also mention of some more major terrorist attacks in the module. These include Uri attack of 2016 and Pulwama attack of 2019. The purpose of incorporating these incidents is to tell the children that terrorism is a threat to peace and security of the whole society, not only on the border. This part will force the children to think that terrorism affects not only the soldiers or the government, but also on the lives of common people.
Operation Sindoor: A name, thousands of stories
In this module named Operation Sindoor, NCERT has said that it is not just the name of a military campaign, but it is a tribute to the martyrs who gave their lives to protect the country. It also shows the courage and sorrow of women who lost their honeymoon in this attack. Its name was chosen ‘Sindoor’ because it is a symbol of respect for those widows and solidarity of society. This name teaches children that every person’s feelings and sacrifices are included in the defense of the country.
The courage of the people of Kashmir is also mentioned
A particular part of the module is dedicated to the bravery of the local people of Kashmir. After the Pahalgam attack, the way the people there raised their voice against terrorism, it has been highly praised. It is written in the book that the locals openly stood against the terrorists and proved that the real identity of Kashmir is not violence, but peace and brotherhood. This part teaches children how important unity and courage in society. This courage of the people of Kashmir has been introduced as an example in the module, which will become an inspiration for generations to come.
