Virat Kohli has missed out on creating history. In the second ODI match being played in Rajkot, Virat was out after scoring 23 runs. In fact, ‘King Kohli’ had till now scored 50 or more scores in five consecutive ODI innings. If he had scored another fifty against New Zealand, he would have become the Indian batsman to score at least 50 runs in most consecutive ODI innings. He was clean bowled by Christian Clarke.

This sequence of Virat Kohli scoring more than fifty consecutive runs started in the third ODI match played against Australia in Sydney.
Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 74 runs in the Sydney ODI match against Australia. After that he scored centuries in both the first ODI matches against South Africa. He also scored an unbeaten 65 runs in the third ODI match against South Africa. Virat continued this brilliant streak by scoring 93 runs in the first ODI against New Zealand. But in the second ODI match against the Kiwis, he was out after scoring 23 runs.

India vs New Zealand second ODI match is being played in Rajkot. New Zealand won the toss and invited the Indian team to bat first.
