Scotland’s first reaction on getting a place in the T20 World Cup 2026. Cricket Scotland Chief Executive Trudy Lindblade expressed her gratitude to the ICC and said that we also recognize that this opportunity has come due to difficult and unique circumstances. Let us tell you that ICC has given place to Scotland in the tournament instead of Bangladesh, because BCB had suddenly demanded to shift its matches from India to Sri Lanka. ICC had rejected it, but BCB stuck to its stand.
Lindblad said, “This morning I received a letter from the ICC asking if our men’s team would play in the T20 World Cup in India, and we have accepted it. We are grateful to the ICC for this invitation. This is an exciting opportunity for Scotland’s players to compete on the global stage in front of millions of supporters. We also recognize that this opportunity has come due to the difficult and unique circumstances.”
The Chief Executive of Cricket Scotland further said, “Our team has been practicing for a few weeks in preparation for the upcoming tour. Now the team is preparing to reach India soon so that the players can adapt to the conditions in India, be ready to play and make a good contribution in the T20 World Cup.”
