Bangladeshi woman Reena Begum and her husband Rashid Ali, living illegally in Mandi Dhanaura, Amroha, were arrested by the police on Thursday. It was told that the intelligence department officials interrogated both of them for several hours. Intelligence department officials have recovered the marriage receipt from their possession.
During interrogation, both of them told that they had got married in Saudi Arabia a few years ago. After this, the woman came to India with her husband via Nepal in October 2025. Police have registered an FIR against the Bangladeshi woman on charges of foreign act and her husband Rashid on charges of giving shelter to her.
Police detained woman and husband for being Bangladeshi
In fact, the police received information on Thursday that Rashid Ali, who works in Saudi Arabia and lives near Sunehri Masjid in Hal Pata Mohalla Katra, had brought a Bangladeshi woman two months ago. In the afternoon, the police brought Rashid Ali and a woman to the police station for questioning. Information about the woman being a Bangladeshi was given to the higher officials and the intelligence agency by the police. Intelligence Bureau officials allegedly interrogated the Bangladeshi woman and Rashid Ali.
The woman tried to mislead the officers
During initial interrogation, the woman Reena tried to mislead the intelligence agency officials by claiming that she was a resident of West Bengal. However, this drama of the woman could not continue for long. The name of the Bangladeshi woman is Reena Begum and she is a resident of Ghazipur in Dhaka district.
