Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has recently shared details of a huge ‘seva ecosystem’ (seva tantra) dedicated to serving the nation. He explained how efforts are being made to make the country self-reliant through health, research, education and volunteer-based initiatives. According to Ramdev Baba, it is not just an organization but a mission of ‘selfless service’.
huge army of volunteers
The biggest strength of this service campaign is its volunteers. Baba Ramdev said that at present about 5 lakh Karmayogi and more than 1 crore yoga volunteers are engaged in community service across the country. This huge network is connecting people at the grassroots level with yoga, wellness and health awareness programs through about 1 crore ‘touchpoints’.
Harmony of modern science and tradition
Ramdev said that this mission of Patanjali includes not only traditional knowledge but also modern science. According to Baba Ramdev, more than 5,000 doctors and about 500 senior scientists are associated with this campaign. These experts are working as a bridge between Ayurveda and modern medicine, so that people can get effective and affordable health solutions.
Infrastructure and economic investment
Baba Ramdev has claimed that in this work of nation building, infrastructure has also been expanded. There are more than 5,000 centers operating across India, which are taking Yoga and Ayurveda to the general public. It costs approximately ₹ 5,000 crore every year to run this entire system. Baba Ramdev stressed that this investment is not being made for any profit, but for long-term nation-building and strengthening public health.
Patanjali: The backbone of service
‘Patanjali’ stands like an organized backbone behind this entire campaign. Here, Indian traditions are being combined with modern lifestyle through hospitals, research centers and educational institutions.
