Speaking at the “Yom-e-Tshkur” (gratitude day) rally in Karachi on Sunday, the former cricket captain appreciated the retaliation of Pakistan’s armed forces. He claimed another false claim that innocent children died in Operation Sindoor of the Indian Army, while India had targeted the hideouts of terrorists being raised by Pakistan only.
Afridi said, “Today we have all united for peace. Our country teaches us peace. Those who accuse us without proof should remember that we are a victim of terrorism for a long time. We have lost our 80, 90 or even 1,000 people. How can you accuse Pakistan within 10 minutes without any investigation?”
His remarks were made a few days after India’s military action after the Pahalgam terror attack by India. The operation launched on 7 May was a series of missile attacks on nine terrorist camps in Sindoor, Line of Control and Pakistan occupied by Pakistan. According to the Indian Ministry of Defense, more than 100 terrorists were killed in this mission.
