IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is facing a lot of opposition after buying Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for Rs 9.2 crore in the IPL auction. He has even been called a ‘traitor’. Let us know who is opposing Shahrukh Khan.
Shiv Sena (UBT) protested
Shiv Sena (UBT) has reacted strongly and warned that there will be protests if the Bangladeshi player is allowed to play. Party spokesperson Anand Dubey said that this issue is beyond sports and national sentiments cannot be ignored. Dubey said, “If Shahrukh Khan drops him from his team, we will all respect him, honor him and give him due recognition. But if Shahrukh Khan feeds them and earns money, then that money will be used to nurture terrorists there and hatch conspiracies against our country. We will not let this happen at any cost.” He further claimed, “Both Bangladesh and Pakistan are our enemies. We will not remain silent without completely boycotting them.”
Swami Rambhadracharya to Shahrukh Khan ,traitor, Said
Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya has strongly opposed Shahrukh Khan for including a Bangladeshi player in his team. He said, “He is not a hero. Shahrukh Khan has no character. His actions are like that of a traitor.”

spiritual guru condemned shahrukh khan
Another spiritual guru, Devkinandan Thakur, also accused KKR and Shahrukh Khan of ignoring the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh. He said, “Hindus are being brutally murdered in Bangladesh, their houses are being burnt and their sisters and daughters are being raped. After seeing such brutal murders, how can anyone be so heartless as to include a cricketer from the same country in their team?” He demanded the player be dropped from the team and further said, “As a token of apology and repentance, the Rs 9.2 crore being given to that cricketer should be given to the families of those Hindu children who are being murdered there.”
Former MLA Sangeet Som calls Shahrukh Khan a “traitor”
Former Uttar Pradesh MLA Sangeet Som called Shahrukh Khan a “traitor” at a public event in Meerut. Som said, “On one hand, Hindus are being massacred in Bangladesh, and on the other hand, cricketers are being bought in the IPL. Such traitors have no right to live in this country.”
IPL 2026 Mini-Auction
In the IPL 2026 mini-auction held in Abu Dhabi, KKR included Mustafizur Rahman in the squad for Rs 9.2 crore. The left-arm fast bowler from Bangladesh has taken 65 wickets in 60 matches. He made his IPL debut in 2016.
