Every year Shani Jayanti is celebrated on the Amavasya Tithi of Jyeshtha month. Amavasya will start on 26 May 2025 at 12:11 pm and will remain till 8:31 am on 27 May 2025. According to astrology, Saturn is considered very powerful and inspires discipline, time to follow and follow the right path. That’s why people perform special worship on the day of Shani Jayanti.

According to religious beliefs, Shani Dev is the son of Surya Dev and Chhaya Mata. He is considered a supreme devotee of Lord Shiva and says that whoever worships Shiva with true heart, Shani Dev shows his grace on him. It is said in a famous story that Ravana took Shani Dev captive, and Hanuman ji got him free and got his grace.

People adopt special worship methods on Shani Jayanti. On this day, lighting a lamp of sesame and mustard oil is considered very auspicious, especially under the Peepal tree. People chant Shani Stotra and Shani Beej Mantra. It is believed that these measures reduce the negative vision of Saturn and positive energy comes in life.

Donation and service are considered to be the most important part of this day. People donate food, clothes or money to the poor, scavengers, and needy. It is believed that Shani Dev is pleased with this and the sufferings that come in life are removed. People go to the main Shani temples nearby and worship and see so that their lives remain peaceful.

Mantras have special significance in the worship of Shani Dev. Some of the main mantras are: ॐ Shan Shanishcharai Namah. Neelanjanasamabhasam Raviputram Yamagrajam. Chhayamartandasamutam Chanting these mantras brings the grace of Shani Dev and relieves the problems coming in life.
