Discussions are going on in the political corridors about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Manipur. NCP chief Sharad Pawar has reacted to the question asked about the PM’s visit. He said that it was being demanded that Prime Minister Modi should visit Manipur. It is good that he went there.
Manipur has been struggling with ethnic violence for a long time. PM Modi visited Manipur on Saturday (September 13), during which he gave a big gift to the state. The foundation stone of projects worth about 7 thousand crore rupees was laid. PM Modi said on this occasion that these schemes will make the lives of the people of Manipur, the tribal society living on the hills here.

‘When violence was taking place, PM should have gone’
On the other hand, senior leader and MLA of Sharad Pawar faction, Jayant Patil has taken a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Manipur on Sunday (14 September). He said, “When violence was taking place in Manipur, PM Modi should have gone there. If the PM had gone when Manipur was burning, when the incidents of suicides and rape were coming out, it would have been more appropriate.
PM Modi’s visit to Manipur was very late- Patil
