Prior to the five -match Test series against England, star Indian all -rounder Shardul Thakur has made a statement on the retirement of right -handed batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Shardul Thakur spoke to Boria Mazumdar on Revspports about Rohit and Kohli’s retirement from the test. During this, he said, “He will definitely not play Test cricket anymore. He was currently the most senior and experienced player in our team, but still, it is a personal decision.”
He added, “But the current team is a young and talented team. There is a different kind of enthusiasm and it is going to be challenging for everyone. In the absence of inspirational players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, I think that now the most veteran players are Jaddu (Ravindra Jadeja). So it is an interesting tour for all, in which we all have different responsibilities, in which we all have different responsibilities.”
Let me tell you that on May 7, Rohit announced his retirement from Test cricket on 7 May and Kohli on 12 May. Fans have suffered a setback after the sudden retirement of both the star players.
