Tharoor is currently on a tour of Brazil with the all -party diplomatic delegation.

Criticizing the role of Beijing in saving the Lashkar -e -Taiba -backed ‘resistance front’ in the United Nations, he said, “We have been sending reports about this group to the UN’s Ban Committee from time to time. When we requested our colleagues to add the name of this organization in a press statement to our colleagues in the Security Council, China also opposed it to Pakistan.”

Target on China

He further said, “I am sad that Pakistan removed the name of the terrorist organization with the support of China, so that there is no mention in the statement. Today we and both of you are not members of the Security Council. This situation should change. We should be together in the council.”

Tharoor made this statement during a discussion with former Brazilian Foreign Minister and former Brazilian ambassador Cellso Amorim to the United Nations. He said that due to land political alliances, India has to face difficulties in fighting terrorism internationally.

Demand for improvement in security council

Shashi Tharoor emphasized the need for comprehensive improvement in the United Nations Security Council and advocated more inclusive global representation. He said, “Large and democratic countries like India and Brazil are not part of the council, this situation should change.”

Currently, the Indian delegation led by Shashi Tharoor is in Brazil and will go to America. The delegation at Brasilia Airport was welcomed by Sandeep Kumar Kujur, in -charge of the Indian Embassy.

Concern also expressed on Colorado terror attack

Shashi Tharoor also reacted to the recent terrorist attack in Colorado. He said that the Indian MPs were worried about getting information about this attack, but the matter of relief is that no one lost his life. Tharoor said in a post on social media platform X, “We agree with the statement of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that there should be no place for terrorism in our countries.” The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has accused 45 -year -old Mohammad Sabri Soliman as an accused in this attack. The attack took place on Sunday in Boulder, Colorado, where Israeli supporters were targeted. In this incident, six people between the ages of 67 to 88 were injured, who were taken to the hospital for treatment.
