Tharoor praised the style of BAPS temple
In the video, Shashi Tharoor told that this architectural marvel, located in the desert, 90 miles from Dubai and 60 miles from the capital of UAE, has left an indelible impression on Tharoor. Tharoor praised the intricate design of the temple, which includes insulated tiles that keep visitors’ feet cool in the 50-degree heat. The hand-carved sandstone carvings and elaborate sculptures, representing seven major deities along with separate shrines, demonstrate meticulous craftsmanship. He marveled at the dust-free pillars of the temple, a feat achieved through thoughtful surrounding structures that protect the complex from desert sand.

Reflecting on his tenure at the United Nations, Tharoor described the temple as a microcosm of the unity of creation. He praised the foresight of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, whose foresight inspired this project. Along with this, he also praised the role of the UAE government, especially Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. The temple’s immersive elements, such as its 15-minute animated digital cinema, enthralled Tharoor, who described it as a fairy-tale experience.
